This international partnership will
enable to make comparisons between partner countries in a field of garments
culture including handmade lace until the 1st world war. Garments
including handmade lace were different in partner countries, always depending
on the social position of the owner. Rich wore dresses enriched with fine handmade laces, also poor people wanted to satisfy their need of beauty, of
course with small lace. Laces were wealth of the rich people and blessing for
the poor, because the opportunity to work lace enabled them to earn some kind of daily
living.
Some examples of old garments
including handmade lace from each country will be reconstructed.
International comparison will
be used to define today’s needs for the garments including handmade lace.
Representatives from labour market will provide the possibility to exchange
information and experiences about possibilities of using unformal knowledge
and searching for placement of handmade lace at the market.
All partners are dealing with
education of handmade bobbin lace. During project activities we will prepare
new innovative approach, which will mean not just producing lace, but also
designing them and searching for their use. This will be achieved by preparing
educational modules applicable for all partners for teaching pattern designing
and attaching lace into different materials.
